Jennifer Place Releases “The Mountain”
Jennifer Place has released The Mountain, a new track paired with a video built from older captured footage and reshaped into a dreamlike visual piece.
The Mountain is an ode to some Rocky Mountain good times, with the feeling of looking out over the horizon as daylight starts to break and the night is still hanging on.
Gary built the video from older Samsung phone footage, including a 2019 chairlift ride in Beavercreek, Colorado, and a 2020 time-lapse of an Orlando, Florida sunset. The edit reshapes those simple clips into a slower, dreamlike visual that fits the atmosphere of the track.
The main motion effect was created with extreme frame resampling and time interpolation using Optical Flow inside Adobe Premiere Pro Beta 26.5.0 Build 56. From there, the clips were layered, blended, and treated further with plugin tools from Maxon Red Giant.
The finished video was mastered at 1920x1080 HD resolution at 29.97fps and created entirely on a Dell Precision 7865 workstation with a 32-core AMD Threadripper CPU and two 48GB AMD Radeon PRO W7900 Dual Slot GPUs.
Lyrics
Sitting on top of the mountain, I see the horizon.
Sitting outside, waiting for daylight.
