Project

Jennifer Place

Jennifer Place is an Orlando-based live-looping project where minimal tech house, lo-fi dub, breakbeat rhythms, deep bass movement, live vocals, and real-time visuals come together in an immersive analog-driven performance.

The band balances tight, sequenced rhythms and breakbeat movement with live-looped instrumentation, analog textures, and hands-on visual mixing — real-time interaction between structured beats, spontaneous performance, dub-influenced low end, and minimal groove language.

Jennifer Place delivers hypnotic minimal tech house grooves, breakbeat rhythms, textured electric piano, analog synth bass, looped vocals, and live visuals — merging sound and image into a cinematic, groove-heavy atmosphere that’s tactile, fluid, and fully in the moment.

Live Setup

Todd

Bass, Keys, Vocals, Melodica, Synths & Live Looping

Delivers dub-inspired basslines through a Fender Jazz Bass and Moog Sub Phatty, locking the low end into deep, hypnotic minimal tech house grooves. Adds warm electric piano movement with the Yamaha Reface CP, while the Yamaha Reface CS brings in hands-on synth textures, airy pads, and animated melodic tones.

The Roland JD-Xi adds compact sequencing, arpeggiated patterns, synth stabs, and electronic rhythmic color, helping shape the live set with a mix of analog-style movement and tight digital pulse. Melodica lines bring an organic, human edge against the machines.

Using the Boss RC-505 MKII, Todd live-loops vocals, harmonies, bass, keys, synths, and melodic layers in real time, building the set from the floor up with dub pressure, spontaneous arrangement, and live performance energy.

Marc

Sequencer, Guitar, Vocals, Synths, Drum Machine & Live Looping

Performs with the Ableton Push 3 Standalone, building and triggering sequences alongside his Fender Telecaster and Takamine acoustic guitars. Vocals and guitars are routed through a Boss RC-505 MKII and mixed through the Model One mixer.

Marc also brings in a Sequential Prophet synthesizer for warm analog pads, chords, and evolving textures, along with the Novation MiniNova for compact synth leads and atmospheric layers. His Elektron Analog Rytm MKII adds deep drum-machine sequencing, analog percussion, and sample-based rhythm control, giving the live set a more physical minimal tech house foundation.

A pedalboard of ambient effects ties the setup together, blending guitar, vocals, synths, loops, and rhythm into a hands-on live performance system.

Gary

Live Visuals & Video Manipulation

Mixes real-time visuals using a combination of modern digital kit and legendary retro analog gear, centered around the Panasonic WJ-MX50 video mixer. During live performances, Gary creates immersive, evolving projections by layering multiple analog and digital video sources. Through the use of hand-controlled feedback loops and tactile faders, he crafts unique transitions and edits in real-time, ensuring that no two shows are ever identical.

Beyond live work, Gary is in the studio shaping the band’s visual identity. He synthesizes analog video, custom 3D graphics, stem-reactive footage, and cinematic elements into a cohesive visual language. By blending these techniques with digital editing and compositing, he creates a dynamic aesthetic that perfectly mirrors the tactile, high-energy sound of the band’s live music.
